The Champlain Bridge Ice Control Structure

Introduction

The ice control structure (familiarly called the ice bridge) was built in 1964-1965 in order to control ice jams and flooding in the Laprairie Basin and to reduce erosion on Montreal region islands, particularly the Expo 67 islands.
